Sam

Sam has been in the IT Industry for 7 years.
He comes from a service background so knows what customers expect when they engage with a service!

His areas of expertise include Smart Home, PC & Apple Support, Business Solutions & Networking.

When Sam isn’t busy with appointments or redesigning the LiteUp website he loves getting outdoors and has an affinity for hiking and camping.

Sheldon

Sheldon

As a computer technician for the last 7 years, there aren’t many technical issues that surprise Sheldon.

Sheldon is experienced with both PC & Apple Mac computers, hardware repairs, home wi-fi & business solutions.

In his ‘downtime’, you’ll often catch Sheldon playing a game of squash or spending time with his friends & family.

Rami

Rami

Rami helps us out with a lot of our behind-the-scenes technical work.

Rami is experienced at web design, hosting, email migrations, Smart Home design & programming as well as general IT support.

Rami is a strong advocate for fitness and healthy eating. He’s also a proud “dad” to an adorable cat called Rory.

Part of LiteUp’s convenient service is that we travel to you. If you’re in the green zone of the map, there’s no call out fee so all you’ll pay is our hourly rate.

We travel as far as the West Coast, Ashburton, Akaroa and Hanmer Springs, charged at $1/km from Christchurch centre to you.

We’re in the business of making things simple, not complicated. Here are our rates for all technical services.

We don’t charge you a callout fee either.

On-Site Support for Home & Business

On-site labour is charged $140/hr in 15 minute increments. 30 minute minimum applies. No call out fee in Christchurch, Rolleston, Lincoln, Rangiora & Tai Tapu. Prices include GST.

$120/hr

Remote & Prepay Support

Casual remote labour is charged at $120/hr in 15 minute increments for all remote work and computer upgrades. Prepaid support time is deducted from your balance in 5 minute increments. Prices include GST.

You can pay us with on-site EFTPOS, POLi, Zip or Bank Transfer

We’ll send you an email invoice at the completion of the job.

Payment due within 7 days of date of invoice. 10% discount for gold card holders, not-for-profits & charities.

The evolution of LiteUp - est. 2017

2017

LiteUp was born!

A similar story like many small businesses in New Zealand, LiteUp began in the kitchen of Sam’s Home where he set up a desk next to the air conditioner to keep cool on summer days.

Sam started with only 3 clients, but got right to work building and developing his vision for LiteUp.

 

2018

The dawn of the smart home!

Now at around 80 clients, Sam started to gain interest from his customers enquiring about new video doorbells and other smart security solutions for homes and businesses.

Mobile EFTPOS and online bookings were added.

Sam continued to learn what the heck ‘being self-employed’ even meant.

We partnered with NOW Broadband and began delivering the ‘Techspert’ service here in Canterbury.

 
 

2019

A fresh new look

We polished up our logo, branding and vehicles at the start of the year.

Gaining even more traction with over 200 clients, it was time to employ Sheldon! And boy, are we glad we did.

A second technician meant we could not only finish jobs twice as fast, we could use Sheldon’s IT skills to deliver more value and more solutions to both our home and business customers.

We continued forging our relationships with local builders, electricians and new home owners to assist them with their smart technology.

 
 
 

2020

Smart Ready Homes & COVID-19

No one in their wildest dreams could’ve predicted what would happen in 2020!

LiteUp became a founding stakeholder in Smart Ready Homes, becoming the primary technical support option for those building or renovating and needing assistance with their technology.

Of course, COVID surprised us all and LiteUp was inundated with businesses suddenly needing remote IT capabilities for their staff. As an essential service, LiteUp continued to support its customers remotely during the lockdown period, as well as offering contactless computer repair services.

2021

 

Prepay Support

We’ve hit the ground running in 2021 with many of our small business customers forging ahead with their own plans for growth, and of course we’re there to fill in the technology piece of the puzzle!

We’re really excited to officially launch our prepay support option. Just like the name suggests, this gives customers like you an easy way to ‘prepay’ for your support at a reduced rate. We also deduct our support time from your balance in 5-minute intervals.

This means you always have someone to call for those smaller queries, without needing to pay our traditional 15 minute minimum charge.

This is a great option for those at home and at work, and means less work for whoever’s in the accounts department with just a single bill for up to 12 support calls.
